OUR STORY

History

The Harvey House was built in the Queen Anne style in 1891 -1892 by J.K. Dimmock, who started the iron foundry in Radford.  The Radford foundry made cast iron products.  The Harvey House was designed by well known Philadelphia architect "Frank Miles Day" who became the national president of the American Institute of Architects. When Dimmock left Radford, the house was vacant for several years until Lewis and Bettie Harvey purchased it in 1906.  It is now owned by A.C. and Lucy Wilson who are currently restoring the house to its original splendor.
